54. The post held by Miss Lily Heang in this

department appears to have been overlooked by the Salaries Report. We recommend for her the scale

$4,000 to $5,000 by $200 annually but we consider that the appointment should not be perpetuated beyond the prosent holder.

55. M. Sung Hok-pang, Vernacular Master, has for some time been seconded to Hong Kong University for special duty. His salary at the University was based on

his pre-revision scale. We consider that, while

seconded, Mr. Sung is entitled at all times to a salary

not less than that which he would have received in the

Education Department.

56. le consider that the special allowance of $600 per annum granted to Mr. Liu Hoi-tung on the secondment of Mr. Sung Hok-pang (see last paragraph) should cease on revision, his revised salary being

adequate for any duties which as a member of the non- British Staff of the department he may be called upon

to fulfil.

The University Trained Teachers Graduated have renewed their protest against the approximation of their scales to those of the non-graduate teachers.
